Here’s what she had to say about her journey to choosing Moringa School to upgrade her already incredible professional profile!
Why Moringa School?
The last organization I worked for piqued my interest in the IT world. I came on board to simply manage the tech team, and present progress reports to our clients. Seeing websites and apps come to life was honestly magical for me. I was intrigued and I desired to do more than supervise. I started working on a few websites on my own, borrowing lessons from YouTube and blogs. I also started looking for a software development course from a recognized institution. Most institutions’ offerings were either too costly, too long, and most importantly not online. Last year, I heard of Moringa and I started doing my research, I asked around and I liked what I heard. Professionalism, ‘teacher’ to ‘student’ ratio, and rich course content were some of the selling points, and I was sold. At the time, however, I wasn’t based in Kenya and so I couldn’t enroll. I’m now back home — and found out that the course is online and discounted — so I applied and I can’t wait to start!
What was your first impression of Moringa School?
For starters, the website and social media profiles are professionally done and updated. Secondly, the customer care was really good with prompt response to emails. It’s an institution that I would want to be associated with.
What are your career aspirations and how do you hope Moringa School can facilitate that?
My dream is to own a software company that offers solutions to MSMEs in the MICE industry and to do so at a continental scale. I would like a firmer grasp on the technical aspect of the business, in order to understand in totality what we will be offering our customers. I am a firm believer in self-paced learning, but there is merit to peer learning and team-work and that is what Moringa will facilitate. Who knows, I may get a co-founder or two in the process.
